Learner Driving Schools

Choosing the right learner driving school or instructor can be seem a bewildering task as there are so many out there. Fear not though as at Driving Instructors Guide we help you to check out all the schools and instructors in your area so that you can compare them and make it easy for you to choose who to spend you money with. However, before you start there are a number of questions you may want to ask yourself to make your decision that much easier:

1. How much do you have to spend on each lesson?

2. Do you want to get to your test date as quickly as possible? – If so have a look at intensive and residential courses. These courses are also very cost effective, however make sure that you have completed your theory test before starting.

3. What type of car do you want to learn on? Dual controls? Manual or automatic? – Remember that if you choose an automatic car once you’ve passed your driving test you will only be able to drive automatic vehicles. Passing with a manual allows you to drive a vehicle with either type of transmission.

4. Do you what to have a male or female instructor? Do you mind?

5. Do you qualify for any of the special discounts that are often offered? – e.g. student discounts.

6. Do you want to drive with a well known national school or do you want to learn with a local independent instructor? Your decision could be influenced by cost but this need not indicate that the level of training is of any less quality.

7. Do you know of anyone who might to able to recommend an instructor to you? If so check them out on Driving Instructors Guide and make contact with them.

Instructors must display a green ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) certificate or a red Trainee Instructor certificate.

Remember, it is you who is in control. If for some reason you are unhappy with your instructor then change to someone else. A good relationship with your instructor will promote good learning.
